Major League Soccer (MLS) today announced that it set the Guinness World Record for the largest single location professional soccer tournament with the MLS is Back Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.


The tournament, which marked the restart of the league’s milestone 25th season, brought approximately 750 players and 500 MLS staff to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for 51 matches in 35 days.  

Without fans in attendance, the MLS is Back Tournament reimagined the soccer experience from home and saw thousands of fans participating in virtual fan parties throughout the tournament.


The tournament concludes tomorrow night, August 11, at 8:30pm with a highly anticipated championship match between the Portland Timbers and Orlando City SC. You can catch all the action on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
